The Series with Marquette
• Butler and Marquette meet for the 50th time in a series that dates back to 1922.
• Butler joined the BIG EAST for the 2013-14 season and the 20 most recent match-ups have come as conference foes.
• The teams met twice in the season prior to Butler joining the BIG EAST with the Bulldogs taking a Maui Invitational win on a Rotnei Clarke buzzer-beater and Marquette winning, 74-72, in the second round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament in what would be the final game on the Butler sidelines for Brad Stevens before he took the Boston Celtics job.

• The Bulldogs fell to No. 4 UConn, 88-81, in the team's last outing.
• Butler lost for the first time this season when leading at halftime (now 9-1).
• Butler shot a season-best 23-for-25 (92 percent) from the free throw line against UConn.
• On the season, Butler ranks seventh nationally in free throw shooting at 78.5 percent. Butler has shot 70 percent or better from the line in all but one game this season.
• DJ Davis scored a game-high 22 points in Friday's loss to UConn. It marked his third consecutive (and fourth overall) 20-point scoring output of the season.
• Davis is shooting 20-for-39 (51 percent) from three-point range over his last six games.
• Butler has scored at least 80 points in nine of its 15 games to start the season; the Bulldogs only hit the 80-point mark six times total a season ago.
• Butler's 82.1 points per game rank among the Top 40 nationally.
• The Bulldogs rank sixth nationally, committing just 13.3 fouls per game.
• Pierre Brooks II scored 19 points against UConn and is the only Bulldog to score in double figures in every game this season.
• UConn shot 54.5 percent from the field, which was the highest mark by a Butler opponent this season.
• Butler shot 8-for-17 (47.1 percent) from behind the arc against UConn, the team's second-best performance of the season in terms of percentage.
• Jahmyl Telfort scored 16 points against UConn, which included a season-best 8-for-8 performance from the free throw line.
• Posh Alexander is among the BIG EAST leaders in steals per game (second at 1.9 per game) and assists per game (fifth at 5.2 per game).
• Brooks' 16.5 points per game scoring average is seventh in the BIG EAST.
• Davis (22) and Brooks (20) both eclipsed 20 points in the team's Dec. 23 game at Providence; it marked the third game this season when two Bulldogs scored 20 or more.
• Davis, Brooks, Jahmyl Telfort and Alexander all have games scoring 20 or more points this season.
• Butler has committed 10 or fewer turnovers in seven games this season, including a season-low five against Providence Dec. 23. Butler is 8-1 when committing fewer turnovers than its opponent.
• Butler owned a 46-22 advantage in points in the paint over Georgetown in the BIG EAST opener Dec. 19. Butler has outscored its opponent in the paint in 11 games this season.
• Butler out-rebounded Georgetown, 37-29, in the BIG EAST opener. Butler is 9-0 this season when out-rebounding its opponent.
• Davis ranks fifth nationally in free throw percentage (95.7). He has two separate games going 10-for-10 from the charity stripe and has hit 45 of his 47 attempts on the season.
• Landon Moore scored 14 points Dec. 23 at Providence Dec. 23, his highest scoring output in a Butler uniform.
• Butler shot 52 percent from the field Dec. 9 vs. Cal; the Bulldogs have shot 50 percent or better in six games this season.
• The Bulldogs trailed 37-34 at halftime Dec. 9 vs. Cal, giving the team its first win of the season when trailing at intermission (1-4).
