STORRS, Conn. – The Butler women's soccer team moved into a tie with UConn in the BIG EAST standings with a 2-1 road victory on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs (7-4-3, 2-2-2 BIG EAST) scored a goal in each half to take a 2-0 lead with 16 minutes remaining on the clock. The Huskies (8-4-3, 2-3-2 BIG EAST) got one back, with about five minutes to play, but were denied an equalizer.

- 9' | Butler earns a corner kick. Abigail Isger's serve is flicked on, off the head of Caitlin O'Malley, and lands near the far post. A charging Talia Sommer beats all defenders to the ball and is able to punch it in. Dawgs up early, 1-0.

- 56' | UConn's Chioma Okafor breaks free of the Butler defense, running down the left side. As she charges the goal, Anna Pierce comes off her line to smother the shot and then secure the rebound.
- 73' | A ball, played from the right side by Alexandra Pulaski, rolls along the 18-yard line. Leila Lister passes it forward to Sommer, who touches, turns, and fires with her left foot, from about eight yards out into the back of the net. Butler is now up two.
- 85' | UConn is awarded a foul. The subsequent free kick from Anna Carson is headed directly into the goal by Maddie Fried, pulling the Huskies to within one, at 2-1.
