Five @ButlerMSoccer Players Earn Academic All-District Honors from College Sports Communicators

Five student-athletes on the Butler men's soccer team – Donovan Boone, Lou-Kent Bosc, Henri Kumwenda, Caleb Norris, and Vygo Verkooijen – have been recognized by College Sports Communicators as Academic All-District®.
 
The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-December.
 
Boone, a senior from Shakopee, Minnesota, appeared in all 17 matches this season for the Bulldogs, notching three starts. The midfielder produced a total of seven shots, putting one on frame. Boone's double major includes Business Technology and Analytics in addition to Finance.
 
Bosc, a junior from Nogent-sur-Marne, France, appeared in all 17 matches for Butler, starting 16. The midfielder dished out an assist at Akron. Bosc is majoring in Entrepreneurship and Innovation
 
Kumwenda, a senior from Leeds, England, started all 16 matches in which he appeared this season. The defender scored the game-winning goal vs. Oakland, and his three goals, three assists, and nine offensive points each ranked third on the team. Kumwenda is a double major in Marketing along with Business Technology and Analytics.
 
Norris, a graduate student from Grand Blanc, Michigan, played every minute in goal for the Bulldogs this season. He picked up one shutout on the season, making 61 saves with a .635 save percentage. Norris is seeking a master's degree in Business Administration.
 
Verkooijen, a junior from Dongen, Noord Brabant, Netherlands, started all 17 of this season's matches in Butler's defensive line. He scored the first goal of his Butler career in the 5-1 win over Xavier. Verkooijen's major area of study is International Business.
