INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler men's soccer team dug themselves a big hole, falling behind DePaul by five goals with just over 37 minutes to play. The Bulldogs (4-10-3, 1-7-0 BIG EAST) rallied with three goals in a 26-minute span but could not overtake the Blue Demons (6-7-3, 2-4-2 BIG EAST) in the final match of the 2024 regular season.

Prior to kickoff, the Bulldogs honored seven seniors who were set to play their final match for Butler.

• 1' | A deflection off a Butler defender leads to a quick shot by DePaul. The rebound off the keeper is punched in by Logan Finnegan, and the Blue Demons take a very early, 1-0, lead.
• 21' | DePaul draws a foul in the penalty area, and Noeh Hernandez converts from the spot. Blue Demons are up two.
• 24' | A ball misplayed a midfield allows DePaul to send a long service forward. A Butler defended slides to play the ball to the keeper, but Finnegan gets there first and slides the ball on the ground toward the far post. The ball eventually rolls in, and the Blue Demons have a three-goal lead.
• 31' | DePaul plays a ball forward on the right side. Attacker Luca Iaccino is behind his defender, and, after the ball is played across to him, he is able to place it in the back corner of the net. It's 4-0 Blue Demons.

• 53' | A DePaul free kick from the left touch line is headed directly into the goal by Noeh Hernandez, giving the Blue Demons a 5-0 cushion.
• 57' | Butler earns a corner kick. The service from Alejandro Moroso-Maza is headed on by Henri Kumwenda. Palmer Ault is waiting at the far post, and he heads it in for the Bulldogs' first goal of the match.
• 77' | Ault sends a ball from the left side to Moroso-Maza at the arc. Moroso-Maza chips forward to Nick Graziano, who chests the ball down. Ault has moved central, and he strikes the ball just inside the left post. The Dawgs pull to within three.
• 83' | Ault carries toward the goal from the left side. At the 18, he slides the ball across to Kumwenda on the right. Kumwenda one-times it back to the center, where Ryan Hannosh is charging. Hannosh puts it in at the left post, from 16 yards out. It's now 5-3 DePaul.
