STORRS, CT — The Bulldogs dropped the final match of the long road trip out east against UConn in three sets (13-25, 20-25, 10-25).
Lauren Evans anchored the Bulldog defense collecting 13 digs, which is the most she has recorded in a conference match this season.
UConn 25-13
The Huskies came flying out the gates using a 6-0 run to an early 10-4 lead. UConn would continue to extend their lead at 21-10 and eventually close out the set at 25-13. Alaleh Tolliver had three kills while Zoe McDonald added a pair of kills.
UConn 25-20
The Bulldogs played better in Set 2 after taking a 3-2 lead after a solo block by Grace Boggess. UConn would come storming back with a 5-0 spurt to take a 8-4 lead. They would extend the lead to 16-10 before Butler began rallying back using a kill and block from Laiya Ebo to cut the deficit to three points at 18-15. The Bulldogs would keep the score close after a service ace from Lauren Evans made the score 23-19, but the Huskies would power through taking the second set at 25-20.
UConn 25-10
Butler never led in the third set with the Huskies dominating the set from the beginning taking a 7-1 lead. A 7-0 run by UConn would enlarge the lead to 16-4. The momentum would remain in their favor to the end with the Huskies taking the set 25-10.

The Bulldogs combined for 33 digs as a team in the match. Lauren Evans collected a team-high 13 digs, which was the most she has had in a conference match this season.
