Dre Davis, Kadary Richmond and Al-Amir Dawes combined for 60 points as Seton Hall used a strong closing stretch to post a 76-64 win over Butler Saturday night at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

Butler is now 16-12 (7-10 BIG EAST) on the season, while Seton Hall improves to 18-9 (11-5).

HOW IT TRANSPIRED:
- A 12-0 run gave Seton Hall an early 16-3 lead at the 12:48 mark of the first half.
- Seton Hall was able to capitalize on eight turnovers by the Bulldogs over the first 12 minutes of the game.
- Seton Hall shot 52 percent from the field in the first half as Dawes (12), Davis (11), and Richmond (10) each got to double digits over the first 20 minutes, combining for 33 of the Pirates' 37 first-half points.
- Butler relied on eight first-half three-pointers to stay in the game, trailing only 37-32 at the half.
- Seton Hall's second-half lead grew to eight before a Pierre Brooks II three-pointer trimmed the margin to two at 53-51 with 10:33 remaining.
- Butler would make only three of 12 attempts from the field over the remainder of the game.
- Seton Hall's 15-4 run after Butler cut the lead to only two took control of the game.
