The Butler women's tennis program fell short in a 4-3 conference loss to UConn on Saturday at the Butler Bubble. The Bulldogs now sit at 8-5 overall and 1-1 in BIG EAST play for the spring season.
In doubles play,
Natalie Boesing and
Chase Metcalf claimed a 6-3 win over Olivia Wright and Maria Constantinou in the No. 1 singles spot. In addition,
Norah Balthazor and
Lauren Cook defeated Nansi Toskova and Victoria Matos, 6-1.
Senior
Delaney Schurhamer beat Constantinou 6-1, 6-2 contest at No. 2 singles. Freshman
Elle Martin clinched a 6-1, 6-0 win over Victoria Matos.
The Bulldogs will take on fellow BIG EAST member DePaul tomorrow at noon at Butler's outdoor tennis courts.
