The Butler softball team will play in its final early-season tournament of the 2024 season this weekend, traveling to the Thundering Herd Invitational at Marshall. The Bulldogs went 3-2 last weekend at the Spring Games in Madeira Beach, Florida.  Scheduled opponents this coming weekend are Purdue, Radford, and Marshall.

  • Ella White leads the BIG EAST (14th nationally) with 6 doubles and is second (75th) with 19 hits.
  • Kieli Ryan leads the BIG EAST (5th nationally) with 6 baserunners caught stealing.
  • Katie Petran leads the BIG EAST (29th nationally) with 5 wins in the circle and is second (74th) allowing only 1.09 walks per seven innings.
  • Hailey Conger ranks third in the BIG EAST with 18 hits.
  • Cate Lehner is fourth in the BIG EAST with six stolen bases.
 
           at the Spring Games
  • Ella White led Butler with nine hits (.563) over five games that included three doubles, a home run, and six RBI. With her performance, she landed a spot on the BIG EAST weekly honor roll.
  • Teagan O'Rilley tallied six RBI on four total hits that included two doubles.
  • Katie Petran earned a pair of complete-game victories over Middle Tennessee and Le Moyne and was named to this week's BIG EAST Honor Roll. She now has five complete-game wins this season.
  • The win over Middle Tennessee was Head Coach Scott Hall's 300th career victory in D1 collegiate softball.

  • Wins for the Boilermakers include Murray State, South Dakota, UIC, and SIU. Losses include No. 6 Georgia, SIU, and South Dakota State.
  • Batting leaders include #1 Sage Scarmardo (.538, 2B, 2RBI), #2 Khloe Banks (.467, 7H, 5SB), #95 Kiara Dillon (.400, 3SB), and #8 Kyndall Bailey (.375).

  • Batting leaders include #11 Sydney Bickel (.447, 3B, 3HR, 11RBI, 7SB), #49 Brooklyn Ulrich (.395, 4-2B, 10RBI), #0 Bella Gerlach (.362, 3-2B, 2HR, 11RBI), and #13 Rielly Lucas (.318, 5-2B, 14 RBI).
  • The pitching staff has a combined ERA of 2.15 with 8 Ks on the season.

  • Wins for the Highlanders include Dartmouth, Bucknell, and UMass. Losses have come to #3 Georgia, #21 Virginia Tech, and Georgia Southern.
