MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State posted a 27-15 win over Butler on Saturday afternoon to improve to 7-3 on the season. With the setback, Butler moves to 3-5. The final game of the series will be played tomorrow at 1 PM.
Morehead State scored six runs in the second inning, eight in the fourth and eight more in the seventh to highlight their win. Butler broke up the shutout in the fourth with a
Carter Dorighi solo home run.
Zach Munton had an RBI triple in the fifth to score
Evan Parks and
Joey Urban would end up with a groundout RBI in the frame to score Munton.
Fireworks went off for Butler in the sixth with
Jack Moroknek,
Billy Wurch and
Ryan Drumm all hitting home runs. Parks homered for BU in the seventh and the Bulldogs would add five more runs over the final two innings.
A full pitching committee touched the rubber for Butler.
Tyler Banks was hit with the loss and exited the game after two innings.
Tate Foxson also tossed two frames for the 'Dawgs.
