McDermott joins Shelvin Mack on Butler's alumni team roster
Â
INDIANAPOLIS, Â
March 4, 2024 – All Good Dawgs, the Butler alumni team hosting The Basketball Tournament's (TBT) regional at Hinkle Fieldhouse July 19-24, today announced the roster addition of former Bulldog Sean McDermott.
Â
McDermott now joins Shelvin Mack as the first two player commitments on All Good Dawgs inaugural roster.
Â
"I'm elated that this opportunity has presented itself," McDermott said. "I know we are still months away, but I can't stop thinking about what it is going to feel like to play in Hinkle again. I can't wait to put a Butler jersey on and represent the Dawgs in front of the Butler faithful."
Â
McDermott, a local star at Pendleton Heights, played at Butler from 2016-20. McDermott was a contributor on two NCAA Tournament teams, including the 2017 Sweet 16 team. As a full-time starter his senior season, McDermott helped Butler earn a Hall of Fame Classic championship. The McDermott-led Bulldogs were also slated for an NCAA Tournament bid in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the event to be canceled.
Â
After graduating from Butler, McDermott spent his rookie season on a two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, appearing in 18 games that season. After two seasons in the G League, McDermott currently plays in Italy.
Â
Additional roster announcements will be made over the coming months via All Good Dawgs' social media pages, @AllGoodDawgsTBT.
Â
All Good Dawgs will be joined in the Butler Regional this summer alongside seven other teams, all vying for TBT's $1 million grand prize.
