The Butler softball team begins a four-game homestand on Wednesday when IUPUI visits the Butler Softball Field on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 4 pm. The Bulldogs (10-9, 0-0 BIG EAST) are coming off a weekend that saw three wins at the Thundering Herd Invitational at Marshall. The Jaguars (3-16, 0-0 Horizon League) most recently picked up a win over Saint Louis at the Austin Peay Invitational.

  • Ella White leads the BIG EAST (63rd nationally) with 6 doubles. She is second (59th) with 5 home runs and third (81st) with a .772 slugging %.
  • Kieli Ryan leads the BIG EAST (5th nationally) with 7 baserunners caught stealing.
  • Katie Petran is second in the BIG EAST (43rd nationally) with 6 wins in the circle and is fourth with 41 strikeouts. She was recognized as BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week by the conference for her performances at the Thundering Herd Invitational.
  • Cate Lehner is fifth in the BIG EAST with six stolen bases.

  • Ella White smacked three home runs over four games, totaling 7 RBI. She had a 2-RBI home run and a sacrifice fly in a 10-inning, 6-5 win over Purdue. In a 5-3 win over Radford, she had a solo home run and a 3-RBI home run.
  • Katie Petran made three appearances in the circle, pitching 17.2 innings and picking up a win and a save. Overall, she had an ERA of 2.04 with 15 strikeouts. She earned her sixth complete-game win of the season in a 3-2 win over Marshall. She then pitched 8.0 innings against Purdue, leaving with the game tied, 5-5. Her save came in a 5-3 win over Radford.
  • Makena Alexander batted .571 over four games, going 4-for-7. In a 3-2 win over Marshall, she singled in the winning run. She struck a home run in a second game vs. Marshall, and she had an RBI single in a 5-3 win over Radford, giving her 3 RBI for the tournament.
