The Butler women's lacrosse team fell 17-14 to Lindenwood today in a hard-fought match at Varsity Field in Indianapolis, Ind. The Bulldogs now fall to 2-12 overall and the Lions improve to 11-3.

The Bulldogs started off the match scoring three early goals in the first quarter, contributed by
Kate Kaptrosky,
Elise Latham, and
Delaney Hudson. Their early surge helped them gain momentum heading into the second quarter. Latham netted in two back-to-back goals at the 8:28 and 7:16 mark. Sophomore
Patricia Lynn followed Latham's goals scoring a goal at the 5:41 mark. Kaptrosky and
Leah Rubino each contributed a goal to help the Bulldogs to an 8-8 tie at the half.Â

Early in the second half,
Luci Selander netted a goal at the 11:35 mark. Selander and Lynn continued to be driving forces for the Bulldogs offensively within the third quarter and helping the team to only trailing by two heading into the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs looked to fight back with goals from Kaptrosky, Rubino, and Latham, each scoring a goal with less than five minutes left on the clock, but fell short in the final minutes of the game.Â

Noteable Stats
- Senior midfielder Leah Rubino passed her total of 35 goals scored within a single season. Rubino is now one goal shy of tying Butler's leading single season scorer Campbell Connors. Connors has recorded a program high of 42 goals scored within a single season.Â
- Kayleigh Colleary and Rubino accounted for 10 of Butler's 16 draw controls.Â
- Kate Kaptrosky led the team in scoring with four goals.Â
- Goalie Caroline Smith recorded seven saves.Â
- Elise Latham recorded four points, consisting of three goals and one assist. Latham completed 3-3 free-position shots.Â

The Bulldogs will travel to Storrs, Conn. to take on BIG EAST member Connecticut for their final regular season road game. The first draw is set for 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 20.Â
