INDIANAPOLIS -- The Georgetown Hoyas swept the Butler Bulldogs on Sunday after recording a 15-2 win at Bulldog Park. The Hoyas move to 8-1 in BIG EAST action while the 'Dawgs drop to 1-5.
Nine runs in the top of the first inning pushed Georgetown into the win column. The nine runs came off nine hits and GU ace Everett Catlett would limit BU to to just two runs off four hits to earn his fifth win of the season. The loss went to BU starter
Nate Rosser. Rosser and
Brett Sherrard took care of the first inning and the longest outing would follow as
Cooper Robinson tossed a pair.
Catlett exited the game after six full innings. He struck out eight and walked two. Each of Butler's runs were unearned.
Billy Wurch and
AJ Solomon were responsible for breaking up the shutout. BU hits went to Wurch,
Ryan Drumm,
Joey Urban and
Kade Lewis.
Butler will be back in action Tuesday with a road game at Eastern Michigan. First pitch is set for 4 PM.
