A total of 10 student-athletes on Butler's cross country and track and field teams have earned Academic All-District® recognition from College Sports Communicators.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.
Butler's honorees include
William Cuthbertson,
Matthew Forrester,
Jesse Hamlin,
Will Minnette, and
Luke Walden on the men's side, in addition to
Wiktoria Klebowska,
Abby Olson,
Elsa Rusthoven,
Abby Fostveit, and
Renate Toldo from Butler's women's teams.
Hamlin and Cuthbertson are coming off appearances at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Hamlin earned All-America honors with his eighth-place finish nationally in the 5,000 meters, while Cuthbertson's time in the 800 meters has earned him a spot in the upcoming U.S. Olympic Trials.
Minnette, Walden and Klebowska each competed at the NCAA East First Round last month.
In the 2023 cross country season, Forrester, Hamlin and Minnette were members of the Butler men's team that placed 21
st at the NCAA Championships. Rusthoven qualified for the NCAA Championships as an individual on the women's side.
