INDIANAPOLIS - The Butler men's soccer team scored late to earn a 1-1 draw with Western Illinois on Sunday evening at the Sellick Bowl. The visiting Leathernecks (0-1-1), out of the Ohio Valley Conference, scored midway through the second half to take the lead, but the Bulldogs (1-0-1) answered with a goal to level the score with about 13 minutes remaining on the clock.

• 60' | Western Illinois sends a ball in, on the ground, from the left corner. Liam Gainey is able to redirect it past the Butler keeper, giving the Leathernecks a 1-0 lead. 
• 71' | A WIU defender handles a ball in the penalty area to prevent a goal. It is his second yellow card, and he is sent off, leaving the Leathernecks a man down. The resulting PK is deflected by the goalkeeper back into play, and a second shot is also saved.
• 77' | Ryan Hannosh serves a ball from the right side toward the goal, and it is collected by Josemir Gomez. Gomez strikes the ball past a WIU defender and the goalkeeper to level the score, 1-1.
