AKRON, Ohio – The Butler men's soccer team combined with Akron for seven total goals on Friday evening in a contest that saw a goal in the first 18 seconds, three penalty kicks, and one player from each side sent off the pitch. The match opened BIG EAST competition for both teams and saw the Zips (2-3-3, 1-0-0 BIG EAST) jump ahead, 3-1, after only 11 minutes of play. The Bulldogs (3-3-2, 0-1-0 BIG EAST) scored two goals before the break, coming back to level the score, but Akron knocked in the game winner in the 56
th minute and held on.
