Butler defender Amelie Darey has been selected BIG EAST Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week following her performance vs. Marquette. In addition, Anna Pierce was recognized on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

Darey scored the only goal in Butler's 1-0 win over the Golden Eagles, knocking in a corner kick service in the eighth minute. She helped anchor a defensive line that allowed only five shots and denied Marquette a corner kick over the entire match.

Pierce produced a clean sheet in goal and picked up her fourth shutout of the season in the victory.

The Bulldogs are on the road this week for two matches, traveling to DePaul on Thursday and then to Providence on Sunday.
