Indianapolis, IN- Saturday Evening, Connecticut defeated Butler in straight sets. The loss moves Butler to 1-5 in BIG EAST play and 8-11 overall. UConn improves to 14-4 and 3-3 in conference play. 

Set 1 UConn (25-18)
The Huskies and Dawgs traded points early, and an Alaleh Tolliver ace tied the score at seven. Connecticut built a five point lead midway through the set. A kill from Tolliver, who led the Dawgs in kills for the match, cut into the margin late, but UConn pulled away to win the first set by eight.

Set 2 UConn (25-18)
The Huskies built a 13-6 lead in the second set. Two aces from Elise Ward helped bring Butler within three, cutting the deficit to 18-15. But Connecticut responded with a late run to take the set, 25-18.

Set 3 UConn (25-14)
UConn once again jumped out to an early lead, going up 9-4 early in the third set. A Sawyer Jones kill, assisted by Kaylee Finnegan, who led the team in assists for the match brought the Dawgs within three at 10-7. But UConn responded with another run and closed out the set and the match.

Butler will head back on the road next weekend. The Dawgs will face DePaul on Friday, Oct. 17, at 8 p.m. Then take on Marquette on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m.
