Will Horne - 2025 BIG EAST

Dayton Flyer Invitational On Deck for the Butler Men

| By:

The fall portion of Butler's season rolls on as the Bulldogs take part in the Dayton Flyer Invitational Monday and Tuesday in Ohio.

Butler's line-up includes a trio of veterans in their final season – Derek Tabor, Leo Zurovac and Jacob Tarkany – in addition to sophomore Logan Sutto and freshman Marius Reiersen. Senior Will Horne will compete as an individual.

The 54-hole event on the NCR Country Club South Course is slated for 36 holes Monday and a final 18 holes Tuesday with 8:45 a.m. shotgun starts both days. The par-71 course will be set up at 7,004 yards.

The Bulldogs are joined in the 12-team field by the host Flyers, BIG EAST foe DePaul, Ball State, Cleveland State, Illinois State, Loyola Chicago, Marshall, Oakland, Ohio, Toledo, and Wright State. Both Illinois and Miami (Ohio) will have players competing as individuals.

The Butler men will look to match last week's performance by the Butler women, who won the Dayton-hosted event on the same course. In the 2024 event, Sutto led the Butler effort with an individual seventh-place finish (two-over 215). The Bulldogs placed seventh as a team.

In their most recent outing, Butler earned a runner-up result at the 2025 Purdue Fall Invitational, continuing an early-season streak of Top-2 finishes in all of their events thus far. Zurovac led the Bulldogs by tying for fifth individually at three-under 213 over the 54 holes.

NCR's famed South Course has been host to numerous championship events, including the 1969 PGA Championship (won by Raymond Floyd), the 1986 US Women's Open, and most recently, the 2022 US Senior Women's Open.
