INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler women's soccer team and Creighton are both vying for a postseason berth, but each program walked away from Saturday's match with only one point in the standings after the contest ended in a 1-1 draw. The Bulldogs (5-4-7, 2-3-4 BIG EAST) scored first, in the 42
nd minute, when
Talia Sommer notched an "olympico," scoring directly into the net off a corner kick. The Bluejays (6-7-4, 3-3-3 BIG EAST) answered in the second half, tying the game with a goal in the 47
th minute.
Sommer's goal was her sixth this season, and she now has 28 in her career. She has moved up to seventh on two of Butler's All-Time lists: career goals and career points (80).
Tonight's draw was the third such result in the most recent four meetings between the two programs.

Butler finishes the regular season schedule next Saturday, traveling to Villanova. The Bulldogs are still mathematically alive for a postseason berth, along with four other teams who are all fighting for one fourth-place spot. All of the possible scenarios that would include Butler in the tournament require a win for the Bulldogs over the Wildcats.
