Scouting Miami Ohio
The Redhawks will play at Wright State on Tuesday before hosting the Bulldogs on Wednesday. The team is currently 5-6 overall after winning two of three at home over the weekend against Northern Kentucky.
 
Miami Ohio hits. 299 as a team and is led at the plate by Anthony Zarlingo. The senior outfielder holds onto a .429 batting average, collecting 15 hits in just 35 at-bats. Ty Batusich and Dillon Baker both bat over .300 for Miami Ohio and have three home runs on the year. David Novak and Evan Appelwick are also dangerous bats in the lineup with four home runs each.
 
Miami Ohio was picked to finish third in the MAC Preseason Poll. Second-year head coach Brian Smiley made an immediate impact on the program in 2024. Miami finished the season 17-13 in the Mid-American Conference, posting the program's best conference record since 2019. The Redhawks went on a nine-game winning streak last year for the first time in five years and advanced to the conference tournament for the first time since 2019.
 
About Butler
The Bulldogs are 4-6 overall after going 1-2 at Ohio over the weekend. Marcus Goodpaster was responsible for the win on the mound and now sits at 2-0 on the year. BU hits .335 as a team and have six student-athletes batting over .300. Jack Moroknek leads the team in hits (21), doubles (6), home runs (6), RBIs (12), total bases (45) and runs scored (17).

Jack Moroknek had at least one hit in every game last week to hit .500 for the Bulldogs. His eight hits resulted in two doubles, a home run, four RBI and seven runs scored.
