| By:

Butler's Jahmyl Telfort has been named All-BIG EAST Third Team. The league's head coaches select the all-conference squads and were not permitted to select their own players. The BIG EAST Conference office made the announcement Sunday, March 9.

Telfort's scoring average of 16.2 points per game ranks eighth in the BIG EAST. Telfort is among the BIG EAST leaders in scoring, assists (11th), field goal percentage (seventh), free throw percentage (seventh), and minutes played (fourth).

His season includes 11 20-point scoring performances. Telfort has led the Bulldogs in scoring in 16 of the team's 31 games. He went over 2,000 career points earlier in the season and was named Tournament MVP of the Arizona Tip-Off Tournament in November, leading the Butler to the event title.

Telfort leads the Bulldogs in scoring, assists (3.5 per game) and steals. His rebounding average of 4.8 per game is third on the team. Following the regular season, Telfort is shooting 47 percent from the field, 38 percent from three-point range, and 78 percent at the free throw line. He has started all 31 games this season and leads the Bulldogs in minutes at 35.3 per game.

Four of the 2024-25 All-BIG EAST First Team selections are unanimous picks. There are no repeat selections on the All-BIG EAST First Team.

The unanimous picks are Ryan Kalkbrenner of Creighton, Kam Jones of Marquette, RJ Luis Jr. of St. John's and Eric Dixon of Villanova. The other selections are Micah Peavy of Georgetown and Zuby Ejiofor of St. John's.
