Butler's first BIG EAST win of the year was a 7-0 shutout victory over visiting Villanova in game two of the weekend series. Marcus Goodpaster was sensational, throwing eight scoreless innings and Jack Bello would keep Nova off the scoreboard in the ninth.
 
Bello had the first RBI of the game for BU with a single to left that scored Jack Moroknek. The Bulldogs added three more runs in the fourth and kept their foot on the gas to post three more in the eighth.
 
Harry Carr doubled down the rightfield line in the fourth to score Connor Sackett. The next BU run would come home on a balk, and the third was Carr coming around to score on an AJ Soloman base knock.
 
Insurance runs in the eighth were supplied by Carr and Moroknek. Carr hit a sacrifice fly that scored Ian Choi and Moroknek found room in center to score both Drumm and Crock.
 
Moroknek and Carr combined to record four of the teams six RBI's on the day. Both BU and Nova ended the game with 11 hits. The Wildcats left 10 on base and Butler left nine.
 
The series will conclude tomorrow with an early 11 a.m. start.
