The Butler football program will host their annual Spring Game on April 19 this year at the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl. Action will get underway at 12 PM.
Â
Bulldog fans, alums and their families are invited back to campus to enjoy the day. The 2025 version of the spring game will begin with individual drills as student-athletes split up by position. An exciting team period will follow with the offense snapping the ball at the 10-yard line for some red zone work against the defense.
Â
7-on-7 action will follow the team session with BU wide receivers, tight ends and quarterbacks trying to move the football on the Bulldog defensive backs and linebackers. Special team activities will fit into the script after 7-on-7.
Â
First-year head coach Kevin Lynch will continue to call plays during the second team period with the Butler huddle moving back near midfield. BU kickers will then get involved in a kicking competition.
Â
The day will conclude with an overtime session that will put ones vs. ones and twos vs. twos. That competition will spill into a two-minute drill.
Lynch and his staff are putting the finishing touches on the 2025 fall schedule. Opponents for weeks two and three will be released soon.
Â
August 30 and September 27 are two important dates to circle on the calendar for now. The season opener will be played at Northern Iowa on Aug. 30 and the PFL home opener will fall on the final weekend of September against Marist.
Â
Butler went 9-3 last year, posting a 5-3 record against PFL opponents. They were 6-1 at the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl and were nationally ranked in the AFCA Coaches Poll near the end of the year.
