Butler will travel to Dallas Saturday, Nov. 15 to face SMU in the back end of the home-and-home series that began last season in Indianapolis.
Â
The tip time and television assignment for the Nov. 15 contest will be announced at a later date.
Butler defeated SMU, 81-70, last season at Hinkle Fieldhouse in the opening portion of the home-and-home series. Six Bulldogs registered double figures in that game.
Â
Butler owns a 2-0 advantage in the series with SMU as the Bulldogs also posted a 42-37 win during the 1939-40 season. Both match-ups so far in the series have been played at Hinkle. Â
Â
It will be a homecoming of sorts for Butler transfer addition
Yohan Traore, who played for SMU during the 2024-25 season, helping the Mustangs to 24 wins and a No. 1 seed in the 2025 NIT. Butler rising junior
Finley Bizjack also starred at Byron Nelson High School in the Dallas area.
Butler enters the 2025-26 season off an appearance in the inaugural College Basketball Crown. Coach Thad Matta's Bulldogs have added five impact transfers in Traore,
Michael Ajayi (Gonzaga),
Jalen Jackson (Purdue Fort Wayne),
Drayton Jones (South Carolina State) and
Yame Butler (Drexel). That group joins returners Bizjack, who averaged 10.3 points per game for the Bulldogs last season;
Jamie Kaiser Jr., who missed the entire 2024-25 season with an ankle injury; and
Evan Haywood, who started both College Basketball Crown games. Butler also welcomes a Top 25 recruiting class.
Â
Season tickets for the upcoming 2025-26 basketball season are on sale now. Additional updates on Butler's non-conference schedule will be announced soon. The Bulldogs will also once again host all 10 BIG EAST rivals at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Fans can emailÂ
