Matthew Forrester finished 20^th Friday night in the 5,000 meters at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore.
 
Forrester crossed the line in a time of 13:43.85. Brian Musau of Oklahoma State won the NCAA title in the event, clocking a time of 13:20.59. He held off a charging Habtom Samuel of New Mexico (13:20.89) in the final stretch; Villanova's Marco Langon finished third (13:21.17).
 
Forrester's performance capped off a strong showing for the Bulldogs in Eugene. On Wednesday night, William Zegarski earned second-team All-America honors by placing 16^th in the 10,000 meters.
 
Forrester's race Friday night serves as the final event for Butler Athletics for the 2024-25 academic year.
