The Butler men's and women's track and field teams were recognized for their continued accomplishments in the classroom, earning NCAA Division I Track & Field USTFCCCA All-Academic Team recognition. The honorees were announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Monday.
 
When combining the men's and women's GPAs, Butler's program ranked 13th nationally for the 2024-25 season. Butler's combined GPA continues a strong stretch that has seen the program recognized among the nation's Top 10 now in seven of the last eight years.

The men's team cumulative GPA of 3.517 ranked 17th nationally, while the women's team cumulative grade point average of 3.639 was 28th in all of NCAA Division I. In order to qualify as an All-Academic Team by the USTFCCCA, a team must achieve a combined cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

The honors continue a long tradition of excellence in the classroom for head coach Matt Roe's Bulldogs, with both the men and women consistently ranking near the top of Division I in team GPA. The overall program finished No. 1 in combined GPA in both 2009 and 2016, with the men topping all other schools in 2016. Butler was the only school to finish in the top spot twice from 2009 through 2016.

Additionally, four Butler men were individually recognized as All-Academic Athletes. The honor was bestowed to student-athletes carrying a minimum 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale who finished in the Top 96 in a championship event during the indoor season or the Top 48 in their region during the outdoor season.

Matthew Forrester, Jesse Hamlin, Jack McMahon, and William Zegarski are the Bulldog men who received the honor.
