KANSAS CITY, Mo. – United Soccer Coaches has announced its NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Players to Watch lists for the 2025 intercollegiate season. Butler's
Talia Sommer was named to the Midfielders to Watch list, while both
Josemir Gomez and
Ryan Hannosh represent the men's team on the Forwards to Watch List.
The lists are compiled and released by the Division I All-America Committees to promote college soccer leading up to the official start date for the regular season. The lists include United Soccer Coaches All-Americans and All-Region players from 2024 who are scheduled to return for the 2025 season. "Entering the 2025 season, these previous honorees represent some of the best at their positions," said Ralph Polson, Senior College All-America Administrator. "As pre-season training have opened, we are pleased to recognize these outstanding student-athletes from our member schools."
The Butler men's soccer team will play its final exhibition match on Saturday, August 16, when Marian visits the Sellick Bowl. Admission is free for the 7 p.m. kickoff.
Both the women's team and the men's team will open their regular-season home competition on Thursday, August 21, in the Sellick Bowl. The women kick off the doubleheader at 5 p.m. vs. Illinois State, followed by the men at 8 p.m. vs Western Illinois. Tickets are available
