Bulldogs Host Illinois State in Home Opener Before Traveling to Purdue

The Butler women's soccer team will play its home opener and then travel to Purdue to close out the week. The Bulldogs (1-0-0) are coming off a 2-0 shutout at Central Michigan.
 
The Redbirds (0-2-0), out of the Missouri Valley, have two early non-conference losses at the hands of Lindenwood (2-1) and Northwestern (1-0).
 
The Boilermakers (2-0-0), from the Big Ten, opened their season with wins over Indiana State (4-0) and Ball State (5-2).

  • Leila Lister tallied three points, from the game-winning goal plus an assist
  • Talia Sommer scored the second goal of the match.
  • Assists came from Norah Jacomen (2), Lister, and Kate Malin.
     
  • Kate Malin was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after assisting on the game-winning goal at Central Michigan in her collegiate debut. The Bulldogs defense held the Chippewas to only two shots with one on goal.
  • Leila Lister was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after her 3-point performance vs. the Chippewas. She produced a total of five shots with four on goal.
