The Bulldogs will open the 2025-26 season in Michigan over the weekend at the 2025 Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate hosted by Oakland University.
Â
It's the second consecutive season that the event has served as the opener for the Bulldogs, who finished third in the team standings in 2024.
Â
Head coach Colby Huffman will utilize a line-up of
Will Horne,
Derek Tabor,
Leo Zurovac,
Logan Sutto, and freshmen
Marius Reiersen and
Ethan Blomme. Blomme will compete as an individual.
Â
Zurovac paced the Bulldogs in last season's event, finishing in a tie for fourth at even-par 216. Sutto, in his Bulldog debut, tied for seventh (217; +1).
Â
Sutto had Butler's top scoring average during the 2024-25 season at 73.16. Horne (73.22), Tabor (73.46) and Zurovac (74.06) were separated by less than a shot per round and headline a talented group of returners for the Bulldogs.
Â
Play is scheduled for Saturday (36 holes) and Sunday (18 holes) on the par-72, 7,273-yard Katke Course in Rochester, Mich.
Â
The Bulldogs are part of a 12-team field, joining host Oakland, Bowling Green, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Green Bay, IU Indianapolis, Northern Kentucky, Ohio University, Purdue Fort Wayne, Toledo, and Wright State.
