Butler's season is off to a strong start as the Bulldogs hold the 36-hole lead after the opening day of the 2025 Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate hosted by Oakland University.

Four Bulldogs are tied for 12
th or better. Butler posted rounds of 287 and even-par 284 Saturday. The 284 was the best team round of the afternoon. Butler's 36-hole total of 571 is seven shots better than Toledo (578); Cleveland State is third (581). There are 12 teams in the field.

Behind a pair of even-par 71s,
Leo Zurovac is tied for sixth and the leading Bulldog heading into Sunday. Each of his rounds included four birdies on the 7,204-yard Katke Course in Rochester, Mich.

Sutto is one shot back of Zurovac, tied for eighth at 143 (+1).
Derek Tabor and freshman
Marius Reiersen are tied for 12
th at two-over 144.

Green Bay's Mason Haupt and Notre Dame's Peyton Blackard are tied for the individual lead at three-under 139 after Saturday's play.
