The Butler men's soccer team will host Western Michigan on Friday before traveling to Pittsburgh for its first road match of the regular season.
Western Michigan (1-3-0), out of the Missouri Valley Conference, defeated New Hampshire this season but has losses to No. 12 Dayton, Wisconsin, and Kentucky. The all-time series is tied, 4-4-1, with the draw coming in 2023. Butler's most recent win (2-0) was in 2022 in Indianapolis, while Western Michigan won the 2021 contest in Kalamazoo, 2-0. The teams met for the first time in 2013 in Indianapolis, when Butler won, 2-1.
No. 10 Pitt (2-1-0), which plays in the ACC, has wins over Michigan State and Quinnipiac but lost to Georgetown. The Panthers face No. 3 Clemson on Friday. Monday's match will be the first meeting between Butler and Pitt.
