Butler's Jersey Loyer has been named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday, Nov. 2.

Loyer, a junior libero, was spectacular over the weekend in Butler's two BIG EAST matches, highlighted by a career-high 27 digs in Friday's match against St. John's. She followed that with another 20-dig performance against Seton Hall in Saturday's match to help the Bulldogs secure the victory.

This marked her eighth career match with 20 or more digs as well as her second time achieving back-to-back matches with at least 20 digs.

This is Loyer's first Player of the Week award this season.
