INDIANAPOLIS - After 36 holes in Dade City, Fla., the Bulldogs find themselves in fourth place among the 14-team field in the Lake Jovita Invitational.
BIG EAST foe Xavier is in first place after the first day of the event, but the top four teams are separated by only five shots.
The morning round had the Bulldogs in second place, posting a 285 (-3) with Will Horne posting a 69 (-3) and Logan Sutto posting a 70 (-2). In the afternoon, Derek Tabor took the lead for the Bulldogs, posting a 68 (-4), placing himself in tenth place individually.Â
Tabor posted a total of 142 (-2) for the first day. His 142 includes 10 birdies across both rounds. In the morning round, Sutto and Leo Zurovac both posted eagles on the 509-yard, par-5 second hole as Sutto carded a 70 (-2) for the morning and Zurovac posting a 73 (+1) for the morning. Sutto is also currently tied for 17th with fellow Bulldog Ethan Blomme (who is playing as an individual), with both carding a score of 143(-1) for the full first day. Collectively, the Bulldogs have 38 birdies through the first two rounds.Â
The final 18 holes are scheduled for Tuesday, with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The Bulldogs are scheduled to start on the front nine of the 7,121-yard Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club South Course.
