Ronald Nored, who has built an extensive coaching résumé in the NBA for more than a decade, has been hired as the head coach of the men's basketball program at his alma mater Butler University.
 
Butler Vice President and Director of Athletics Grant Leiendecker made the announcement Wednesday, March 25. Nored will be re-introduced to the Butler and Indianapolis communities Friday, March 27 with a noon event at Hinkle Fieldhouse that is open to the public.
 
Nored is a 2012 Butler graduate who helped the Bulldogs to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA national championship game as the starting point guard for coach Brad Stevens and concluded his playing career by earning Academic All-America honors in 2012. Nored has been part of coaching staffs with five NBA franchises, most recently serving as an assistant coach with the Atlanta Hawks for the last three seasons.
