General manager
Tony Bollier and assistant coach
Jon Diebler will continue to be part of the Butler Basketball program moving forward, working alongside new head coach Ronald Nored.
Â
Bollier, who was hired by Vice President and Director of Athletics Grant Leiendecker in 2024, will continue in the general manager role in addition to transitioning from the program's director of player development into an assistant coach position. Diebler, who served on Thad Matta's Butler staff for the last four seasons, will remain with the Bulldogs as an assistant coach on Nored's staff.
Â
"I'm excited that Tony and Jon will continue to be part of our success moving forward here at Butler," said Nored. "Tony is a tremendous talent evaluator with strong connections in all corners of the basketball world. We'll tap into his strong basketball IQ even more with his elevated role on our coaching staff."
Â
"I've known Jon for a long time, dating back to playing against him in college," said Nored. "He is elite at building relationships with players and loves to spend time with them in the gym developing their game. Jon has great energy, strong basketball acumen and an incredible work ethic that will continue to positively impact our program."
Â
Bollier's eye for talent and roster assembly was on display as
Michael Ajayi earned both AP All-America honorable mention and All-BIG EAST first team recognition during the 2025-26 season, setting a new Butler single-season rebounding record.Â
Finley Bizjack (2025-26) and
Jahmyl Telfort (2024-25) each earned All-BIG EAST third team honors over the last two seasons.
Â
Bollier arrived at Butler in 2024 after spending seven seasons as a front office executive with the Milwaukee Bucks organization. In his seven seasons with the franchise, he helped the team to more than 350 wins, playoff appearances each year and the 2021 NBA Championship.Â
Â
Diebler recently completed his fourth season at Butler. He is involved in all aspects of the program with an emphasis on player development, recruiting and scouting. Diebler has helped Butler to a pair of postseason berths as the team made the 2024 NIT and the field for the inaugural College Basketball Crown in 2025. The Bulldogs have won two in-season tournaments -- the 2024 Arizona Tip-Off and the 2025 Greenbrier Tip-Off -- during his time on staff as well.Â
After retiring from an international playing career that spanned nearly a decade, Diebler started his coaching career with the Charlotte Hornets, serving in a video/basketball operations position during the 2021-22 season.
Additional announcements regarding the Butler Basketball staff will be made over the coming weeks.
