INDIANAPOLIS — The Bulldogs are taking home three trophies from the Don Benbow Spring Invitational. Leo Zurovac took medalist honors and Derek Tabor earned the runner-up spot on the individual leaderboard. The Bulldogs also captured the team title, carding a 54-hole team total of 826 (-14).
Zurovac ended the tournament with two eagles and 13 birdies, carding a 201 (-9) total. Zurovac carded an-even par 70 in Tuesday's final round, solidifying his first-place finish by two strokes. Zurovac also carded an 8-under 62 Monday morning, setting both a course record for the team's home Highland Golf Club and a new program best for a par-70 course.
Tabor ended the tournament at 203 (-7), taking second place by a single stroke in front of Preston Bily of SIUE. Tabor finished with 14 birdies. Tabor's two-under 68 Tuesday tied for the low round of the day as the field battled consistent windy conditions.
Logan Sutto tied for 11th place individually, carding a 72 (+2) on the final day, bringing his total to 210 (E) for the tournament.
Luke Kruger finished in a tie for 23rd individually, with a total of 214 (+4) after the final day, where he carded a 75 (+5). Ethan Blomme was right behind him, tied for 26th, carding a 215 (+5) total for the tournament.
The Bulldogs will next be in action at the NKU Jewell Invitational in Batavia, Ohio, at Elks Run Golf Course. Live scoring will be available at ButlerSports.com.
