OMAHA, Neb. — Butler dropped the series finale against Creighton, 12-2, in eight innings. With the loss, Butler falls to 15-28 overall and 5-7 in BIG EAST play while the Bluejays improve to 25-16 (10-2). 
 

BULLDOG HIGHLIGHTS 

• Matthew Rhoades hit his 19th home run of the season. 

• Danny Gavin singled and scored a run. 

• Logan Wiley made his third start of the season, allowing one run on two hits in 2.2 innings.  

• Gavin Gilmore singled and stole a base. 

• Gunnar Duncan went 1-for-2 with a walk.  
   

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Butler jumped on Creighton in the top of the first with a two-run homer from Matthew Rhoades. Creighton responded with a home run of its own, cutting the deficit in half (2-1) entering the second.  

• The second and third were scoreless. Creighton tied the game in the bottom of the fourth, scoring via four walks. The game was deadlocked at 2-2 heading into the fifth frame.  

• The Jays scored three runs on three hits and two walks to take a 5-2 lead into the sixth inning.  

• Creighton added two runs in the seventh and five more in the eighth to secure the 12-2 victory.
