Butler standout Michael Ajayi has signed with the Charlotte Hornets, as officially announced by his agency CAA Friday.
 
Ajayi will begin his career with the Hornets in July at the NBA Summer League 2026, which will take place in Las Vegas.
 
The 6-7 forward will embark on a professional career after a dominating season in a Butler uniform during the 2025-26 campaign.
 
Ajayi earned All-BIG EAST first-team honors and was an All-America honorable mention selection. 
 
He averaged 16.4 points and 11.1 rebounds per game with his rebounding average ranking fifth in the nation. His 19 double-doubles were also fifth in the nation. He finished in the Top 15 in the BIG EAST in rebounding (first), minutes (third), scoring (sixth), field goal percentage (sixth), blocks (ninth), and assists (12th). Ajayi's 356 rebounds set a new Butler single-season record.
