LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Butler softball team led all Division I programs in overall team GPA during the 2025-26 academic year as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Wednesday. The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. The Bulldogs posted an incredible 3.876 team GPA for the academic year and were one of only 14 teams with a 3.8 or better.

Head Coach Scott Hall shared his feelings about his team's commitment to success in academic achievement, stating, "I can't express how proud of themselves these girls should be! Holding themselves to a high standard in the classroom, while going through the rigors of being a D1 athlete, is truly a testament to their focus and determination. Our culture speaks volumes!"

Butler finished the 2026 season with an overall record of 25-21. The Bulldogs finished fourth in BIG EAST play (15-9) and qualified for the BIG EAST Tournament for the sixth consecutive season. Butler knocked off No. 1 seed Providence before bowing out with losses to Creighton and eventual champion, UConn.
