Butler Falls to IU Indy in Three Sets
Indianapolis, IN - The IU Indy Jaguars defeated the Butler Bulldogs 3-0 (25-21, 28-26, 25-18) on Wednesday evening. With the loss, the Bulldogs drop to 6-4 overall, and the Jaguars improve to 5-7.
Bulldog Bites
- Jersey Loyer recorded ten digs and seven assists.
- Chase Lemming tallied 11 kills, including six kills in the third set.
- Sawyer Jones totaled seven kills, including three in the second set. She also totaled four blocks and one dig.
- Ava Hunxter recorded 17 assists, seven digs, and one block.
Set 1 IU Indy (25-21)
The Bulldogs and the Jaguars opened set one trading points back-and-forth, with the Jaguars taking a narrow edge, 15-12, at the halfway point of set one. The Bulldogs continued to fight back into the match. Ultimately, it was the Jaguars who took set one 25-21
Set 2 IU Indy (28-26)
Butler continued to trade points with the Jaguars in set two. The Bulldogs took a narrow lead, 15-13, midway through set two. Both teams fought back-and-forth in the late moments of the frame. However, the Jaguars ended up taking set two 28-26.
Set 3 IU Indy (25-18)
The Bulldogs opened set three trading points back-and-forth with the Jaguars. IU Indy held a narrow edge, 15- 11, at the halfway point of set three. The Bulldogs continued to fight throughout set three. Butler was unable to mount a comeback, dropping the third set and the match.

Butler will host the Butler Invitational this weekend as the Bulldogs celebrate homecoming. Butler will kickoff a weekend of events with a Friday night showdown against Duke at Hinkle Fieldhouse. First serve is slated for 7 p.m., and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+. BU will then return to action again on Sunday, as the Bulldogs face LIU at 2 p.m. at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
