The Butler women's soccer team will host Marquette on Saturday in the first scheduled BIG EAST contest of the season. The Bulldogs are coming off a 7-1 victory over Western Illinois in their final non-conference match of the regular season and are currently on a four-match winning streak. The Golden Eagles most recently defeated Eastern Illinois. The side's only loss came at the hands of (then ranked) No. 17 Baylor, and one of its four draws was a 1-1 result on the road at Wisconsin.

Bulldog Bits
        (as of Monday, 9/21)

• Addison Ash leads the BIG EAST and is 96th nationally with 4.25 saves per match. She ranks third (36th) with a .850 save percentage and third (56th) with three shutouts.
• Chloe Brecht leads the BIG EAST with six goals (35th nationally) and 14 points (51st). She also leads the conference and is 57th nationally with a .600 shooting accuracy.
• Riley Gumm leads the BIG EAST (42nd) with two game-winning goals and ranks second in the conference with 11 points. Her three assists rank third, and her four goals rank fifth.
   
• Gumm was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on 9/21. She led the Bulldogs with five points, scoring two goals and dishing out an assist in Butler's 7-1 win over Western Illinois.
• Gemma Gillespie was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on 9/21. The defender scored a goal while anchoring a defensive line that limited Western Illinois to two total shots.

• Brecht and Gumm each had a brace against WIU. They were joined by Gillespie, Sarah Beth Sizemore, and Alyssa Carlson as five different Bulldogs put the ball in the back of the net.
• Nine different Bulldogs registered an assist in the match. Cecelia Simion and Carlson each had a pair, and Gumm, Sarah Monnin, Emma Hamelmann, Lily Kiliski, Isabella Ayau, Kylie Secoda, and Elsa Maurer each added one.
• Career firsts in the match: Gumm's brace, Sizemore's goal, and an assist for Simion, Monnin, Hamelmann, Secoda, and Maurer.
• Julia Lorenzi and Alexi Mumford each made her first collegiate appearance in goal vs. WIU.
• The seven goals scored by Butler were the most since the 2022 season when the Bulldogs beat Wright State, 7-0.
• Four first-half goals were scored in the short span of 4 minutes and 18 seconds, all within the first 13 minutes of the game. The Bulldogs notched the first two, about two minutes apart, but the Leathernecks quickly responded to draw within one. Butler then returned the favor, and the 3-1 lead for the Bulldogs held until the break.
   
• The four-game winning streak for Butler is its longest since the 2021 season when the Bulldogs rattled off nine straight.
