INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler women's soccer team used a dramatic goal to earn a draw with Marquette on Saturday night. The goal from
Gemma Gillespie came with nine seconds on the clock in what was the first match of BIG EAST competition for both sides. After a scoreless first half, and with the clock winding down, the visiting Golden Eagles (4-1-5, 0-0-1 BIG EAST) seemed to be in control having scored the match's only goal in the 75
th minute. The Bulldogs (5-2-2, 0-0-1 BIG EAST) did not give up, however, as they produced four shots in the final five minutes and found the back of the net on the fourth.

- 39' | Butler wins a corner kick. Kylie Secoda's delivery from the left flag deflects off a Marquette defender and lands near Isabella Ayau at the far post. Ayau uncorks a left-footed shot from three yards which is turned back by the keeper and lands out of play.

- 75' | Marquette's Lily Coats plays Kaylie Sheehan down the right side and just inside the penalty area. Sheehan whips a cross to the back post, and a diving header from Haley Christianson puts Marquette on the board first.
- 90' | Lily Kiliski tries a shot from 35 yards out that is blocked and falls at the feet of Riley Gumm who is 30 yards away. Gumm shakes two Marquette defenders and finds Lola Pepper open on the left side, just outside the box. Pepper sends in a cross that is met at the 6-yard line by Gillespie. Her diving header beats the keeper, just inside the right post. The match is level with nine seconds on the clock.
