Butler's Beck Janki was named the Pioneer Football League Special Teams Player of the Week by the league office on Sunday. Janki, the junior kicker, was pivotal in Butler's 33-28 win over Valparaiso on Saturday as Butler secured the Hoosier Helmet for the fifth consecutive year.

The Atlanta, Ga. native opened the scoring with a career-long 41-yard field goal on the Bulldogs' opening drive of the game. Janki also connected on a 40-yard field goal in the fourth quarter that helped extend Butler's lead. The junior also converted on all three PATs he attempted in the game.

This is the first PFL award of Janki's career and the second weekly award of the season for Butler, joining Steven Stephany, who received Defensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 13.

The Bulldogs are now 4-1 on the season and will have their bye week next week before returning to action on Saturday, Oct. 10 as San Diego visits the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
