2022 PFL Academic Honor Roll

2023 Season (Junior): Played in seven games, making five starts… Ended the year with four tackles and a sack… Put together a great game at Montana in the season opener, recording a season-high three tackles (9/2)… Had a tackle for loss and a sack against the Griz… Credited with a QB hurry vs. Taylor… Had a tackle at Stetson.

2022 Season (Sophomore): Played in all 11 games, making 10 starts… Led Butler with 3.5 sacks and four QB hurries… Ended the year with 11 total tackles… Made eight solo tackles and assisted on three others… Credited with 4.5 tackles for loss… Forced a fumble in the finale vs. St. Thomas (11/19)… Broke-up a pass in back-to-back games at San Diego and Drake (11/5-11/12)… Made a season-high three tackles vs. Dayton (10/8)… Had 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks vs. the Flyers… Had a sack and a tackle for loss the following weekend at Valparaiso (10/15)… Ended the season with three tackles vs. St. Thomas (11/19)… Added a half sack vs. the Tommies.

2021 Season (Freshman): 2021 All-PFL honorable mention selection... Played in all 11 games… Ended the year with 12 tackles… Made seven solo stops and assisted on five tackles… Made four tackles for loss… Credited with 2.5 sacks… Tied for the team lead with three quarterback hurries… Broke up one pass… Forced two fumbles… Recorded two sacks and two tackles for loss in the season finale at Marist (Nov. 20)… Made three tackles, forced a fumble and earned half a sack vs. Drake (Oct. 2).

2021 Spring Season (Redshirt): Special Teams Unsung Hero (Scout Speical Teams Player of the Year)… Played in four games as the long snapper.

High School: Three-year starter under the direction of head coach Terry Peebles… Helped his team win two sectional championships (2018, 2019)… Posted a 9-3 overall record with a 6-1 mark in conference play… 2019 stats included 63 tackles, six sacks, 11.5 tackles for loss, one interception, two pass break-ups, two fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, one blocked punt, one blocked PAT and one defensive TD… Posted similar numbers the year before with 63 tackles, 11 sacks, 1 forced fumble and two fumble recoveries as a junior… 2018 AP First Team All-State… 2019 AP honorable mention All-State… Two-time All-North Central Conference selection… Team captain… Mental attitude award winner… Set his team single-game sack record with 3.5… Top high school performance came vs. Westfield in 2019; six tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss and a forced fumble… 2019 IFCA Academic All-State… 2019 Academic All-Conference… Maintained a 3.5 GPA throughout high school… Also played basketball and participated in track and field.
 
Personal: Son of Brian Cain and Betsy Dahnke… Has three siblings; Jackson, Charlotte and Ryker… Plans to major in marketing.
