Biography

AS A SOPHOMORE (2022-23 SEASON): One of two players to start all 32 games for the Bulldogs...averaged 33.3 minutes per game, which was second on the team...his scoring average of 11.6 points per game was also second on the team and ranked 28th in the BIG EAST...led the team with 92 assists (2.9 per game)...his 59 made three-pointers and his 37.8-percent three-point shooting were both best on the team...his average of 1.8 made three-pointers per game was 12th in the BIG EAST...shot 43 percent from the field and 80 percent from the free throw line...added an average of 4.0 rebounds per game, which was third on the team...had 20 games in double figures, including two games with more than 20 points...had a season-high 28 points in the Jan. 13 win over Villanova, going 9-for-13 from the field and 5-for-8 from three-point range...scored a team-best 23 points in the BIG EAST Tournament first round game against St. John's...led the team in scoring seven times and in rebounding seven times...twice named to the five-member BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll...once on Nov. 21 after scoring 18 points to go along with a season-best nine rebounds against The Citadel Nov. 19 and also Jan. 16 after his performance against Villanova...had 10 games with three or more made three-pointers...had five games with seven or more rebounds...had a season-best seven assists twice (in the Nov. 30 win over Kansas State and at Marquette Feb. 4)...those were two of his six games with five or more assists...his 32 steals were third on the team. 

AS A FRESHMAN (2021-22 SEASON): Two-time BIG EAST Freshman of the Week...earned the honors Jan. 3 after scoring 15 points in the Dec. 29 win over DePaul to open conference play for the Bulldogs...selected Jan. 31 after scoring 14 points in the Jan. 26 win over Creighton and 13 points in the Jan. 29 win over Georgetown...saw action in 32 of the team's 33 games, missing one contest due to illness...made four starts, including the first three games of the regular season...scored a season-high 27 points (including 12 in the overtime session) in the BIG EAST Tournament first round win over Xavier March 9...went 6-for-13 from the field, 4-for-8 from three-point range and made 11 of his 13 free throw attempts...one of two games when he had seven rebounds...averaged 21.7 minutes per game...posted marks of 6.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game...his 89 percent free throw percentage (57-64) led the team...his 30 made three-pointers tied for third on the team...led the team in scoring three times and in rebounding twice...had seven games scoring in double figures (Butler was 6-1 in those contests)...scored 19 points at DePaul Feb. 15 and had 17 points at UConn Jan. 18...had a season-high four assists in the Nov. 24 win over Chaminade at the Maui Invitational (played in Las Vegas)...his three steals vs. Georgetown Jan. 29 were a season-best.

PRIOR TO BUTLER: Brings high-level international experience, most recently playing for Telekom Baskets Bonn as part of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), which is the highest level league in Germany. Butler alum Kamar Baldwin played in this league during the 2021-22 season for BG Gottingen, while Kelan Martin played for MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg during the 2018-19 season...in 2020-21, Lukosius played for Telekom Baskets Bonn in the first league of the BBL, averaging 9.4 minutes per game along with 2.9 points, 1.0 rebounds and 0.6 assists per contest...Lukosius also played for Dragons Rhondorf in ProB, which is the third league, during the 2019-20 season. With Rhondorf, he averaged 14.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game, shooting 47 percent from the field, 38 percent from three-point range, and 91 percent at the free throw line...during the 2019-20 season, Lukosius played for the Dragons Rhondorf in ProB as well as Rhondorf’s U-19 team. He played with Bayern Munich in the adidas Next Generation Tournament.

PERSONAL: Son of Jorinda and Mindaugas...his father, Mindaugas, is a professional basketball coach who has experience leading teams in Kuwait, Lithuania, Russia, Lebanon, Germany, and Bahrain...has an older brother, Aivaras...holds dual citizenship in both Lithuania and Germany (and has played for Germany in international competition).
