Biography
2023-24 SEASON: Started all 33 games for the Bulldogs, averaging 22.5 minutes per game...led the team in rebounding at 6.2 boards per game, which ranked 15th in the BIG EAST...his scoring average of 7.7 points per game ranked fifth on the team...also led the team in blocks with 41 on the season, the eighth-most in program single-season history...his average of 1.24 blocks per game were eighth in the BIG EAST...shot 56 percent from the field (second on the team) and 78 percent from the free throw line...led the team in rebounding 15 times and led the Bulldogs in scoring in three games...scored in double figures 11 times...had four games pulling down 10 or more rebounds, leading to three double-doubles...set a career-high with 14 rebounds as part of a double-double in the Jan. 10 road win at Marquette...also had double-doubles against Buffalo Dec. 5 and Xavier Jan. 16...scored a season-high 18 points twice (vs. Buffalo, Dec. 5 and against Creighton, Feb. 17)...had five games with three blocks...handed out a career-best four assists in the Dec. 9 win over California...shot 32 percent from three-point range, making multiple three-pointers in three of his final eight games...named to the five-member BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll Jan. 15...finished his five-year career with 987 points, 703 rebounds and 180 blocks (including his three seasons at Georgia State).Â
2022-23 SEASON: Played in the final 21 games of the season after missing the first 11 of the campaign due to a pulmonary embolism...started 13 of his 21 games...averaged 21 minutes per game...shot 50 percent from the field and 82 percent from the free throw line...his 7.0 points per game were sixth on the team...his average of 4.7 rebounds per game was second...his 23 blocks in only 21 games were second on the team...his average of 1.1 blocks per game in conference games was tenth in the BIG EAST...scored a season-high 20 points (on 10-for-16 shooting) in the BIG EAST Tournament first round game against St. John's...it was his first 20-point game as a Bulldog...scored in double figures in eight games...led the Bulldogs in rebounding in nine games, which tied for the most on the team...had 10 games with six or more rebounds, including a season-high eight in three games...had multiple blocks in six games, including a season-high three blocks three times...had a season-high four steals against Georgetown Feb. 19.

2021-22 SEASON (AT GEORGIA STATE): Started 24 of the 28 games he appeared in, leading the Panthers to a 18-11 record, Sun Belt Tournament title and appearance in the 2022 NCAA Tournament…averaged 7.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game…ranked fourth in the Sun Belt and 59th nationally with an average of 1.7 blocks per game…his rebounding average (6.2 per game) was ninth in the conference...scored in double figures in 10 games…had five games with 10+ rebounds, including two double-doubles…had 13 games with two or more blocks…posted 12 points, nine rebounds and a pair of blocks in the Panthers’ NCAA Tournament first round game against top-seeded Gonzaga March 17…averaged 25.6 minutes per game and shot 46 percent from the field.
2020-21 SEASON (AT GEORGIA STATE): Averaged 10.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game, while shooting 59 percent from the field…his field goal percentage ranked third in the conference, while he finished second in the Sun Belt in blocks…ranked No. 72 nationally in blocks per game…played in 18 games, making 16 starts…averaged 27.4 minutes per game…named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week Feb. 24 after scoring 22 points on 10-of-15 shooting against Appalachian State Feb. 23, his third consecutive game setting a new career-high…registered the first double-double of his career (16 points, 12 rebounds) in the regular season finale at South Alabama Feb. 27…had 10 games scoring in double figures…had nine games with multiple blocks.

2019-20 SEASON (AT GEORGIA STATE): Averaged 5.7 points and 3.8 rebounds per game…his 1.3 blocks per game were fourth in the Sun Belt…played in all 32 games, making seven starts…shot 59 percent from the field…averaged 17.6 minutes per game…had four games scoring in double figures, including a season-best 14 on three occasions…had a season-high four blocks at Mercer Dec. 7…went a perfect 7-for-7 from the field at Appalachian State Jan. 2.

HIGH SCHOOL: A Michigan All-State selection in both 2018 and 2019…led University of Detroit Jesuit High School to a 95-10 record…his team made two trips to the MHSAA Final Four: a MHSAA State Runner-Up finish (2019) and the MHSAA State Championship in 2016…named to the All-Catholic League Team and All-Detroit by both the Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press…as a senior, led the Cubs to a 25-3 record by averaging 13.4 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks per game while leading the team shooting 63.0 percent from the field and 81.0 percent from the free throw line…during his junior year, averaged 10.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game, up from a sophomore season in which he averaged 6.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and one block per contest…team achievements included four Catholic High School League (CHSL) Central Division titles, four CHSL Tournament Championships, four Operation Friendship (CHSL vs. Detroit Public League) titles, four MHSAA District titles, and four MHSAA Regional titles…ranked as high as the No. 2 prospect in Michigan, No. 37 center in the country and among the top 250 players per 247Sports…per the national rankings, he was the second-highest ranked player to ever sign with Georgia State.
PERSONAL: Son of Monike Thomas and Tim Karim…his siblings include Jade (his twin sister), Timothy, and Katelynn…his father Tim played Division II basketball at Kentucky Wesleyan College alongside Kenneth Martin, the father of Butler 2,000-point scorer Kelan Martin…his grandfather John Henry Jones played for North Carolina Central University and his uncle Richard Pop Pitts played at Norfolk State University and is in both the Norfolk State University Hall of Fame and the CIAA (conference) Hall of Fame.
