Bryan Bing joined the Butler Football coaching staff as the Defensive Tackles Coach in May of 2018.
Bing spent the 2017 season at Kent State as a graduate assistant, working primarily with the defensive line. He assisted in all aspects of the defense, one that ranked in the Top 15 nationally in third-down defense and Top 30 nationally in pass defense. Kent State was third in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) in sacks in 2017.
Bing joined the Kent State staff after serving as the running backs coach at Heidelberg University during the 2016 season. While at Heidelberg, Bing coached one second-team all-conference performer.
Bing was a four-year letterwinner at Methodist (N.C.) University (2011-2015), where he starred as a linebacker. He was a three-time All-USA South Athletic Conference honoree. Bing was named D3Football.com All-South Region Second Team twice. He ranks third in school history in career tackles (316). Bing led the Monarchs in total tackles during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. He is five-time USA South All-Academic Team selectee.
Bing served as a student assistant coach working with the linebackers in 2013 while missing the season due to injury. He helped lead Methodist to a share of the USA South Championship.
The Bradenton, Fla., native is a 2015 graduate of Methodist University, where he earned a degree in criminal justice. Bing also received a masters degree in sport recreation and management from Kent State in 2018.
