Desmond Tardy

Desmond Tardy was named an assistant football coach at Butler in June of 2014. He has responsibility for Butler's wide receivers.

He has been an integral part of Butler's offense the past few seasons.

Tardy, boasting an extensive high school, college and professional football background as a player, joined the Bulldogs after spending three seasons as an assistant football coach at Warren Central High School in Indianapolis. In his final season at Warren Central, he helped the Warriors to the Indiana Class 6A state championship. 

A two-time All-State performer at Warren Central and Indiana’s 2003 “Mr. Football,” Tardy went on to earn All-Big Ten recognition as a wide receiver at Purdue University, 2004-08. He continued his football career as a professional player in the Indoor Football League, playing with the Fairbanks Grizzlies (2011), the Green Bay Blizzard (2012) and the Cedar Rapids Titans (2013). 

Tardy earned his B.A. degree from Purdue in 2008.
