Jacob White joined the Butler football coaching staff at the start of the 2021 season as a secondary assistant. A three-time team captain while playing inside linebacker at Ball State, White capped off a stellar playing career after being named First Team All Mid-American Conference in 2019.Â
White helped coach the Hinsdale Falcon Football program during the 2020-21 season under guidance from Super Bowl Champion Jason Buck. Prior to that, White worked as a private football trainer.
While at Ball State, White was recognized as the team's Defensive Player of the Year, he won the Ball State Dave McLain Leadership Award twice (’19, ’17) and was also an Academic All-MAC honoree.
As a senior, White led the Ball State with 117 tackles and ranked 16th nationally in tackles per game (9.8). He reached a double figure tackle total in five games and was responsible for a career-high 18 against NC State on Sept. 21.
Originally from Clarendon Hills, Ill., White earned three varsity letters in football while playing at Hinsdale Central High School. He was a two-time all-conference selection and team captain before attending Ball State.
